A Zimbabwean prophet has announced plans to set up what he calls a school of prophecy to train anyone to become a prophet.
Prophet Passion Java said on Monday during a sermon that he was set to open an International School of Prophecy on April 1. Prophet Java is on record as saying he is the spritual son of controvesial Spirit Embassy founder, Prophet Uerbert Angel.
He invited prospective students to register and pay $500 for a six-day stint. “I have been instructed by God to impart and implant the prophetic gift to willing individuals who believe in Jesus. Even criminals, fellow pastors or anyone is free to enroll at the school of prophecy.
“Elisha was a farmer but the prophetic was imparted on him and he became a great prophet. I want to teach people how to operate in the office of a prophet and how to perceive the word of God.
“God speaks to everyone, everyday, but most of us might not be able to perceive His voice and the school of prophecy is basically teaching individuals to perceive the voice of God and operate in the office of a prophet for the advancement of the Kingdom,” said Prophet Passion to his congregants.
However, Prophet Passion’s utterances received a backlash from senior clergymen who argued that being a prophet was a calling and requires anointing.
“If that man made such claims then I don’t believe that he is God-sent. Jeremiah 1 vs 5 clearly states that God raises prophets himself and no man can train or teach someone to be a prophet.
“It’s a calling and a gift, and no man can impart a gift on another unless if it’s some witchcraft of some sort,” said Bishop Mangwanya.
Bishop Steven Mangwanya from New United Apostolic Church blasted Prophet Passion.
Apostle Churches Council of Zimbabwe president Archbishop Johannes Ndanga said Prophet Passion was being overzealous and his utterances smack of corrupt tendencies.
“I have never met this Prophet Passion but his claims make me doubt his sincerity as a prophet.
Prophecy is a gift from God and it is a realm that cannot be taught unless he wants to open a school that teaches about the gift and not imparting it.
“That’s being overzealous and demanding such exorbitant money smacks of corrupt tendencies of milking gullible followers.
“Some circles want to stop us from criticising some of these so called prophets but it is our duty to help Christians discern the Bible and act within the dictates of scriptures,” said Bishop Ndanga.
Prophet Java is no stranger to controvesy, last year he claimed to have performed a miracle abortion on a 4 month pregnant woman. He claimed to have prayed to have her pregancy dissappear because she didnt want the pregancy.
