Caps United drop points

CAPS United failed to use home advantage on Sunday when they were held to a goalless draw by visiting Buffaloes in a Castle Lager Premiership match played at Gwanzura.

After last week's 2-1 win over neighbours Harare City, Makepekepe were on a high but failed to convert a number of chances that came their way in either half.

United coach Taurai Mangwiro lamented the dropped points.

“We tried too hard and ended up making mistakes. In the second half Buffaloes resorted to long balls and they were not playing the ball in midfield," he said..

“We will look at it as two points dropped. We will get there and we shouldn’t despair by losing two points at home.

“I feel we will get better as the season progresses."
For Luke Masowmere, it was an important point gained.

“We played well in the second half unlike in the first half where our midfield was non-existent. We could have even scored two goals but we were much more defensive and not attacking," he said.

“I am happy with the way we played against CAPS United who are a good side but couldn’t utilise their chances in the first half while we also failed to utilise ours in the first half.

“It is unfortunate we failed to sit on the bench in the second half because CAPS United players Blessing Zabula and Hardlife Zvirekwi had poured urine on our bench and no one cleaned it for us to sit on the bench."
