This is the fairy tale of a man who desperately wanted money so much that he told his wife to go and take off her clothes to any rich man she could find on the street so that their woes on money and needs could fade. This is the very fairy tale where a cultured man lost his dignity and pride as he made concerted efforts to try to elicit money from a wealthy man regardless of how his image would be hurt in public through continued press reports and open demands. This is the very folk tale where the man lost conscience as the temptation to get rich swamped his reason and masculinity to such an extent that his wife's loose morality became a lucrative ticket to the golden gates of wealth.
This is the story of Nomsa Ruvazhe and Denford Mutashu, a couple that sat down and agreed that the wife should go to church to try to lure a Pastor to sleep with her so that she could make a claim for a wild figure and they could be rich in the blink of an eye. Using the media as a blackmail tool, they thought they could easily win a half a million dollar settlement and dash to some low density suburb to buy a house and start a life in Paradise. Just like that. This is the very perfect definition of extortion.
The courage to do such immoral and embarrassing acts, the lack of dignity to pursue such a claim, the loss of direction and bearing all became questionable. Mutashu clearly knew the character of Nomsa Ruvazhe as a loose woman. Her background stated it all. He knew he married a prostitute.
Given the recent overexcitement and overzealousness with which the so called Magaya scandal has been blown out of proportion, I come to despise it. I can say to this date so many damaging words have been spoken against Prophet Magaya and not even a single person has ever had the chance to hear Magaya's version of the story.
In case Nomsa disappeared from home for three days, where did Mutashu think his wife was? In case there was a car bought for Nomsa, where did Mutashu think his wife got the funds to buy such a pricey car from? Did he not acknowledge. This was mere condonation or encouragement as Mutashu saw bigger opportunities ahead through using his wife's private parts to elicit more money.
There seems to be a silence of the lambs on Magaya who maintained his business as usual stance as the press had its own field day through being fed from one side of the story. Many forgot in the process that there are always two sides to a story.
In any case, silence does not mean guilt. Anyone has a right to remain silent as a prerogative. Only that because we live in a society where gossip or baseless accusations can be entertainment, many tend to build mountains out of mole hills. Malice too and jealous are the triggers to such malicious rumour mongering.
There are a number of scenarios that would make the Nomsa issue questionable.
The appetite for Mutashu to have the $500K from Magaya is a red flag. Which man would be so daring to demand such an exorbitant amount in such an economy where he knows that the wife is a promiscuous wench who sleeps around with any man with a shiny skin? And which man would be so silly as to be forgiving to a loose woman so that they can jointly act in cahoots and plot to make a lifetime scoop of big money over the wife's generosity in compromising her chastity through bedding any rich or powerful man?
Given that Nomsa once slept with a bus conductor and derailed the comfort of two other women married ahead of her, leading her to seek refuge in a friend's flat in the Avenues, isn't it common cause that this Mutashu seems to have found a golden goose with which to demand compensation for the loose morals of his wife. He wants to thrive on his wife's appetite to sleep with many men. He also forgets there is disease out there and he then goes out of his way to try to make claims over his wife's conduct. Which man would still have the energy to proceed to a formal court marriage with a known prostitute after he catches her red handed with another man?
The scandal fails to make sense in that:
The truth is simply that Nomsa Ruvazhe could be an established home-wrecker. This is the very reason why she is still Nomsa Ruvazhe and not Nomsa Mutashu. She still leads a loose life as a public wench who is now bait to men for she must keep her Jezebel acts running as Mutashu follows behind with a bowl to scoop dollars through extortion on whoever sleeps with his wife. What kind of man would want to enjoy ill-gotten funds obtained through charging men who sleep with his wife? Let's think about it.

The scandal fails to make sense in that:
- Mutashu continued with his relationship with Nomsa besides the alleged issues
- Mutashu waited for three days before trying to find out where his wife was. That means his wife's disappearances were normal as manifested by his inertia to check where his wife was all that time.
- Nomsa is said to have had a new car that Mutashu accepted into the home without checking how Nomsa acquired it.
