As part of an ongoing buying guide for confused shoppers this Christmas and Black Friday, I’ll be summing the best of the latest handsets.
Knowing which handset to buy this year means selecting from a number of excellent devices, this is what this guide is for – you can read last week’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus guides here. It’s here to break down the basics and help you make your decision. In future posts I’ll be focussing on Sony Xperia Z3, LG G3, HTC One M8, Nokia Lumia 930, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and others.Today, I’m taking a look at Motorola and Google’s Nexus 6.
It’s big, like really big
As I said in my iPhone 6 Plus round-up, bigger is the future of smartphones – and the Nexus 6 certainly has one foot in tomorrow. Google’s latest handset measures in with a 6-inch screen, which is bigger than the iPhone 6 Plus (5.5-inch) and Galaxy Note 4 (5.7-inch). Adobe recently conducted some research that found that consumers prefer to browse the internet on larger screens, more specifically 5-inches or above. With browsing on smaller screens falling 11% year on year. This means that more apps, games and services are being developed and tailored for a bigger display.

It fits more comfortably in one hand than the squared design of the iPhone 6 Plus, and the plastic matte finish means its less likely to slip out of your hand like its all-metal competitors. Motorola has also cleverly repositioned the volume buttons lower down the phone so they’re easier to reach. This is a big phone, but there’s clearly been some thought into how users will interact with it. Continued Here
