A Zaka man who pretends to be mentally unstable and abuses that status to go around fondling women’s breasts has appeared in court facing a charge of assault.
Jimmy Zvada (34) of Zvada Village under Chief Bota stabbed Ngonidzashe Dube after the later reprimanded him against fondling the breast of a girl in public.
Zvada had fondled the breasts of Yvonne Dhakwa.
Zaka Resident Magistrate Constance Mutandwa sentenced Zvada to 18 months in prison and suspended six months of the term on condition that he doesn’t repeat the same offence in five years.
The State led by Innocent Mudzingwa said on the day in question at Dakwa Shop at Jerera Growth Point, the accused fondled Yvonne Dhakwa’s breasts in public and Ngonidzashe Dube (22) reprimanded him and this did not go down well with the accused who struck the complainant on the cheek with an open hand and and then stabbed him once on the back with a knife.
In September the accused was remanded for examination by two doctors after the State suspected that the accused might be suffering from mental problems. Both doctors established that Zvada is not mentally disturbed.
