Salvation Press News (SPN), HARARE. – As you read this piece, a self-declared prophet who has been on the run for the past five years after allegedly raping an innocent 18-year-old heavily pregnant woman was recently nabbed and has appeared before the courts.

It is reported that, Thomas Muzira hailing from the sugarcane town, the prophet under investigation is pleading not guilty. On December 15, 2010 the complainant who remains anonymous accompanied by close relatives visited Muzira at his shrine for consultation. He advised the complainant to return the following day, alone. The complainant agreed. Her ordeal had just commenced.
On December 17 the complainant returned to the accused where she found him alone. The State alleges that Muzira took the complainant into his shrine where he inserted his finger into her vagina and removed objects. The ‘prophet’ told the complainant that the vagina opening needed to be widened to remove bigger objects. He then ordered her to lean forward with both hands resting on a stool.
She later become suspicious when the prophet held her tightly. She was overpowered by the lustful ‘prophet’. In defiance, Muzira told the court that he was in love with the complainant. The husband in support refuted these allegations as false. He had actually sought to know why his wife was upset when she returned from the shrine. That’s when he knew the truth. When Muzira knew of the allegations, he disappeared, becoming an elusive fugitive, until this year. But why would a lover suddenly vanish if he had substantial evidence that the two were in love?
Sadly, her revelation is not isolated. Fortunately, she can be recorded as heroin who chose to open up and not remain quite forever. Some have chosen to remain discreet. Worse still, some today are raising children of rape because they chose to remain silent. Zimbabweans still recall how Madzibaba Nzira faded into oblivion after his rape accusations. It was one brave woman who chose to bare it all. Finally, the self-proclaimed prophet was locked away. In his years of existence, he had been known to be powerful and possessed extensive spiritual powers.
The questions comes are these prophets using magic in order to distract their victims before they are raped or abused. Sadly, each day more women flock to shrines in search of deliverance. When a victim is asked to return alone, this should arise suspicion. What else can be done when one is alone in secluded shrines? For a normal person this should be the starting point. And by extracting objects without warning, there is a sign of the devil in operation. The devil operates by instilling fear into its victims, rendering them susceptible to abuse.

One actually claims she was rapped whilst in a drunken stupor administered by the accused.
