The youthful musician told Newsday on Wednesday that some sections of the media and some promoters have made his life difficult.
But the artiste, who has charmed the nation with his sober dancehall lyrics, maintains he is neither complaining nor is he moved.
“Some have not been fair at all. I have not had any problem with my fans, but it is some sections of the media and some promoters that have not been fair,” he said posing a figure of one old philosopher who feels grossly misunderstood.
In the few minutes that he spoke out, one could be forgiven to think Tocky is some close relation of Oliver Mtukudzi.
He maintains a consistency in his speech and stands by his philosophy whether you buy into it or not.
Something about him tells he is not like the rebellious lot that his peers are.
“The other time I was called by a reporter alleging that I had performed for only 30 minutes in Mutoko when I had actually performed for two hours. I am probably the only Zimdancehall artiste that performs for two hours. The reporter was not even at the show and I told him to go ahead and write what he saw at the show,” he said keeping a straight face.
“Engineers have on three occasions switched off my sound, but I am not complaining though.
“I know it does not have to be easy because I am not a fly-by-night artiste. I am going to be around for much longer than anticipated and I have to endure all this.”
Then he threw in another philosophical statement: “Everything you do to the flesh whether good or bad it complains. If we are to give you everything you need in life you will still complain. I know my job is not supposed to be easy so I will keep working hard instead of just complaining.”
