12 people have been arrested after foreign-owned shops in South Africa were attacked and looted in eastern Johannesburg, in the latest in a series of xenophobic attacks.
Meanwhile, Economic Freedom Front leader Julius Malema launched a scathing attack on President Jacob Zuma in parliament.
Malema has accused President Zuma of not being sincere in condemning the violence.
The latest violence in South Africa comes despite Thursday’s peace march held in Durban and condemnation from President Zuma in parliament.
In a statement, South Africa’s International Relations Minister Mrs Maite Nkoana-Mashabane condemned the attacks on foreigners calling for calm in the country.
Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini who has been accused of fuelling the attacks by saying that foreigners should go back to their countries has called for a meeting of traditional leaders to condemn the violence in the country.
