Contemporary musician Mukudzeyi “Jah Prayzah” Mukombe has admitted to being a hopeless romantic despite portraying the tough military man in his music. The Zimbabwe Defence Forces ambassador who recently released a love song “Murudo” with diva Cynthia Mare said he was a softie when it came to matters of the heart.
“Even the toughest military man has to shelve his combat (gear) and be a gentle lover to his woman. I do feel I’m a very romantic person,” Jah Prayzah said before bursting into laughter.
Although the “Tsviriyo” hit-maker has wowed music lovers with his catchy party songs over the years, he is melting hearts with romantic duets “Kure Kure” which features Ammara Brown, Dali Wangu which features Charma Girl and now “Murudo”.
Award Winning Musician-Jah Prayzah“I enjoy collaborating with different artistes because it enhances my musical ability. When Cynthia Mare approached me with the idea, I jumped for it because such a move brings diversity to the fans as well,” he said.
Mare on the other hand had nothing but praises for Jah Prayzah who she said managed to do justice to the song.
“Jah Prayzah is a very good musician and our collaboration was a fusion of different vibes. I was playing the keyboard and he played his mbira. In the end we created a beautiful song,” Mare said.
In the song, the two musicians’ vocals complement each other while they seal the deal with equally syrupy lyrics. Their combination best explains the “fire meets ice” cliché. The song was released just in time for Valentine’s Day on Saturday.
Mare said a sizzling video for the track was in the pipeline.
“Fans can listen to Murudo for free on my Facebook fan page – Cynthia Mare or on my Twitter handle,” she said.
