Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries founder Walter Magaya says his movement is not a church, but a ministry focusing on “delivering people through miracles”.
Speaking to journalists during his three-day crusade in Gaborone, Magaya said people should not confuse his congregation to a church as it was a mere ministry with a clear mandate.
“A ministry can focus on a certain thing like singing or just to preaching,” he said.
“We focus on healing, deliverance and prophecy. We are not yet a church. The Lord has not yet told me to start a church and we have one branch in Harare.
“So the pastors who are here must fear nothing because I am not here to establish a church.”
Thousands of people from Zimbabwe, Botswana South Africa and Namibia have flocked Gaborone to listen to Magaya preach and “perform miracles”.
Former wife of ex-Prime Minister and MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai, Locadia Karimatsenga Tendo also attended the crusade.
The youthful preacher, who is travelling with his wife and son, Walter Jnr said the ministry was often funded by “partners dotted across the country”.
Magaya said there were so many people who have been healed secretly and were bankrolling the ministry’s activities which included the Botswana trip.
At the crusade, Magaya has attracted the local leadership and political figures who braved the cold whether to listen to his word and possibly witness miracles.
