The June 2015 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council Advanced Level results are out and have been dispatched to regional offices. Zimsec director Mr Esau Nhandara yesterday urged school heads in a statement to collect the results from regional offices. Candidates who sat for the examinations, Mr Nhandara said, will be able to collect their results from their respective schools or centres from today.
Mr Nhandara said the June 2015 candidature decreased by 14,29 percent after a total of 4 086 candidates sat for the examinations as compared to 4 767 in June 2014.
“There were 173 A’ Level examinations centres for the June 2015 examinations and these recorded a total of 4 177 registered candidates,” he said.
“The total number of candidates who sat for the examinations, however, were 4 086 as compared to 4 767 in June 2014.
“The candidature decreased by 681, a decrease of 14,29 percent.”
According to the statistics from Mr Nhandara, school candidates recorded an 86,62 percent pass rate, while private candidates recorded a 62,77 percent pass rate.
“Our analysis shows that the majority of candidates, both private and school, sat for one subject,” he said.
“School candidates who registered for two or more subjects were 568 and 492 obtained Grade E in two or more subjects, which translates to a percentage pass rate of 86,62 percent.
“Private candidates who registered for two or more subjects were 1 327 and 833 obtained Grade E in two or more subjects, which translates to a percentage pass rate of 62,77 percent.”
