Officials believed to be from the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) yesterday caused a scene at the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) headquarters, demanding to see Prophet Walter Magaya over his numerous donations.
Zimra are understood to have demanded a list of people who have benefited from Prophet Magaya’s donations since he started PHD. The officials were not interested in being helped by PHD officials who handle information that might be of use to Zimra and instead demanded to see Prophet Magaya, who was not there at that time.He turned up later for the Sunday service. While there was no immediate comment from the revenue authority, Prophet Magaya last night confirmed receiving news of the raid. He believes ZIMRA were triggered into haunting him after his highly publicised donations to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, the First Lady and national soccer team’s.

“I have not been given an outline of what was the basis (of the raid). But from what is coming out, our donations to charity sparked this raid.
“Our gesture in buying First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe’s book and the donation to Parirenyatwa sparked the unfortunate incident.
“This is God’s ministry and all the funds being channelled to help people (are) coming from people who grasped the vision of my ministry. I have always put it on record that PHD prayer partners are behind all this ” said Magaya .
While acknowledging Zimra as the revenue authority, Magaya was not happy with what he called ‘unprofessional ‘ behaviour by the officials who reportedly clashed with his followers.
“I am told that when they got here they were rude and refused to be attended to by relevant people within the PHD structures who would have been helpful with regards whatever information they need pertaining to the donations.”
“Instead, I am told they were saying ‘toda kuona anonzi Magaya wacho.’ It disturbed PhD prayer partners so much and they asked me if helping people is what ZIMRA are against or they are meant to destroy the ministry that God has established.
“Among their demands is a full list of the people I helped with money and you wonder where their question is coming from and what they are up to ,” said Prophet Magaya.
Meanwhile, Prophet Magaya presented 12 people who returned from South Africa on Saturday who benefited from the donation of artificial legs. Among the 12 is 15 year old Chikomborero Denga of Kambuzuma, who praised prophet Magaya to live long.
“I am happy that I can now walk after my leg was amputated some time in 2013 following a stroke,” he said.
Magaya expressed his readiness to visit South Africa where he is expected to hold a three-day crusade in Pretoria from the 1st October. He encouraged his followers to fix their eyes on Jesus saying the devil came to steal, kill and destroy people’s lives using anything, including people, to make sure they do not get their deliverance.
Quoting scriptures from Mark 9:14-27 and Mark 10:46, Magaya said:
“God has prepared everything and I am not scared with xenophobia reports in that country and I believe that the crusade is going to help those in that country unite. We are going to donate to the elderly in South Africa and PHD prayer partners feel blessed in doing that and we are not turning back, the devil is a liar.” H Metro
