Sometimes, it’s hard to call it quits with your bae. So why not pay someone to do it for you?
Enter: The Breakup Shop, a new, online service started by two Canadians that claims it will “handle the messy work of the breakup” for you, in the form of a text ($10), phone call ($29) or a custom letter ($30).
The phone call option only lasts one minute, and the Breakup Shop’s team will reach out to the dumper for relevant details to include in their send-off.

The site also features a “Gifts for Exes” page; the priciest pick for your soon-to-be-single partner is a “Breakup Gift Pack” ($80), which includes either a Blu-ray copy of “The Notebook” or a Call of Duty: Ghosts video game, a $30 Netflix gift card, a box of Chips Ahoy! cookies and a “handcrafted sympathy letter for the recently single.” So, does it really work?
A Vice writer recently tested out the service — his girlfriend aware it was a prank — and splurged for the $30 heartbreaking phone call.
He gave the Breakup Shop a reason to tell his girl it was over, but the service went rogue and told her that she was pressuring him to get married.
The lesson: Grow a pair and make your own breakup call.
