Chelsea boss "The Special One" Jose Mourinho is interested in replacing "Red Devils" manager Louis van Gaal next summer, according to reports.
Under fire Mourinho is fighting for his job after a dreadful start to the season, although the Stamford Bridge faithful made their support for the Portuguese clear during Dynamo Kiev's visit in the Champions League. But according to Le 10 Sport – via Sport Witness – Mourinho could end up at Old Trafford next summer, with the ex-Porto and Real Madrid boss keen to take the position.
Mourinho was touted as a potential successor to Sir Alex Ferguson when he left United, but he was spurned in favour of David Moyes.
Le 10 Sport also claim that United’s owners aren’t 100% convinced by current boss Van Gaal, with many fans frustrated by his possession-based football.
United are currently 11 places above Chelsea in the table, though, and it appears unlikely that they would part company with Van Gaal before his contract expires.
