A woman from Majuwe village in Nkayi made a spirited attempt to castrate her abusive husband with a chisel while he was sleeping.
Thuba Moyo (43) claimed that she was tired of being turned into a punching bag by her husband, Hlalani Moyo aged 41.Thuba further said whenever Moyo was drunk he demanded sex while their children aged 12, 14, 16 were awake.

"Your worship, I have suffered enough humiliation at the hands of this man. He demands sex in the presence of our children who are 12, 14 and 16.
"That has subjected me to serious humiliation. I believe that has had bad influence on my daughter because as it is she has eloped with her boyfriend," she said.
"I have had enough of the beatings and insults. I decided to revenge by hitting his balls with a chisel so that he would refrain from his abusive behaviour. I apologise for what I did because I did that out of anger," he said.
Moyo said he spent five days in hospital after the chisel attack.
