An ‘Almost’ Cheater’s Adorable Post About His Wife

It is true that in this age of social media, it’s difficult for a cheater to hide.

Remember when this bloke was busted after a girl he hooked up with posted his photo to Facebook, only to learn he had a girlfriend?

This man’s Facebook post about his wife has gone viral for all the right reasons.

Or what about that cheating wife who was caught in the act on camera, and humiliated across the globe after the footage was posted to Reddit?

And we need not remind you of the whole Ashley Madison scandal.

But this Utah man’s “cheating” post has actually gone viral for all the right reasons.

Earlier in the week, Jason Helwett took to Facebook to confess the embarrassing moment he “sort of cheated on his wife”.

He was standing in line at Target, when he noticed a woman in line that “knocked him out”.

“I thought, “Wow, some lucky guy is with her”, and in a split second I realized it was my wife! You know, it was just out of context to see my spouse at the same store, in the same line, living her life and not knowing she might be at the same place, same time, different car.”

He said he was “taken aback by how amazingly beautiful she is once again”, and that he “saw her with new eyes and just couldn’t believe (he) gets to be her lucky fella.”

He went on to describe their relationship and his love for her, constantly referring to how lucky he was to have “nabbed” her. He even acknowledged that she probably would never see his post, as she rarely used Facebook and therefore “wouldn’t realise she was kind of cheated on today”.

He concluded his heartfelt post by saying: “Lesson of the Day: It’s good to look at those we love with fresh eyes whenever we can to remind us how lucky we are to have their light in our lives.”

The post has clocked up over 90,000 Likes and 70,000 shares, with one user even saying, “Congratulations, you just won husband of the year.”

Despite rarely checking it, his wife soon heard about the post and posted her own response. She admitted she “really did not notice him” in the line, but said she’s “grateful that he sees the beauty in all people.”

She too had an important message for all that were reading it: “And believe that this kind of love really does exist because I’m here to tell you it does!”

Perhaps the most beautiful thing about this whole thing is how casual the setting was. This wasn’t some grand anniversary speech or heartfelt letter penned to his wife on her birthday; it was just as simple as waiting in line at Target, and taking a moment to reflect on just how lucky you are in your day to day life.

And at the end of the day, that’s the best you can hope for in a marriage, right?
