The “40 Years of Tuku Music” concert set for Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton tomorrow will be an event for various collaborations on stage. The big musicians performing on the day have done collaborations in studio and will be presenting their duets on the celebratory day.
The show is meant to celebrate Oliver Mtukudzi’s 40-year career since he went professional musically in 1975.
The show will feature Suluman Chimbetu, Jah Prayzah, Diva Mafunga, Munya Mataruse , Donald Kanyuchi and Chiedza Chavatendi among others.

Tuku, as the Katekwe star is popularly known, has done duets with Chimbetu, Jah Prayzah, Mafunga and Mataruse.
The songs are likely to make the event memorable as Tuku joins his friends on stage for the duets.
With Chimbetu, Tuku did duets “Kwedu” and “Idah Nhoro” that have been popular with fans. Both songs are on Chimbetu’s albums.
Tuku collaborated with Jah Prayzah on the song “Cecilia” on the album “Tsviriyo”. Tuku also features on “Tsviriyo” video that Jah Prayzah did with various musicians that are mentioned in the song.
On a gospel note, Tuku had two duets with Mafunga on the latter’s latest album “Ndatenda Ndapinda”. The tracks “Munana Wekutanga” and “Kutenda Kusina Mabasa” are doing well on local charts and Mafunga has applauded Tuku for his contribution to the album and the music industry at large.
Mataruse is Tuku’s protégé and they were together in studio for the song “Hondo” that features on the young musician’s album. Mataruse and Tuku have also toured many countries together and their relationship has brought good fortunes.
Orgnanisers of the “40 Years of Tuku Music” concert said the musicians have promised to do the duets on stage and the show is likely to be a mixed bag of collaborations.
