A pastor in South Africa reportedly told his wife to get out of the church as he was getting married to a new lover despite the fact that she was still officially married to him.
Daily Sun reported that not even the fact that he was already married, or that his family didn’t know – or that his present wife was in church, complaining.
“The pastor simply told his wife to leave and carried on with the service,” reported Daily Sun.
Daily Sun reported that for George Manamela (57) to be standing arm-in-arm in front of the altar with Sophy Tshabalala (52), his wife-to-be, he had to perform a few shady tricks – and that included shamelessly lying to his wife, Merriam Manamela (56), his legal wife.

“He told me that George bribed him and three of his cousins with booze so they would go to pay the lobola for his girlfriend,” said Merriam.
“George told them all the negotiations were done and they mustn’t spoil anything. They went there and paid the R16 000 to the family.”
Merriam said she confronted George.
“George promised me he was not getting married. He said someone was spreading lies about him and I believed him.”
But then she got some news she didn’t want to hear. Her in-laws told her George was getting married to Sophy (52) at a church in Dertig, Hammanskraal, Tshwane.
That was on Sunday. Merriam raced to the church.
“None of his family was there to represent him.
I introduced myself to the congregation as his wife. The pastor told me he didn’t care about my marriage certificate. He said it was meant for me, the children and the magistrates court where we got married and then he threw me out,” said Merriam.
George’s sister, Kgomotso Tema, said the family is not pleased with the way her brother married his new wife.
“We knew the bride only as his friend’s younger sister. She attended family events and was friendly to everyone. Even the letter signed as evidence of receipt of the lobola is only signed by the bride’s family. He has embarrassed us in the worst way possible. This is not how we do things in our family,” said Kgomotso.
George told Daily Sun he is angry that his family embarrassed him in front of his guests.
“I didn’t invite them to my wedding because I didn’t want them to attend. They are just jealous of me and my wife,” said George.
