A high speed chase involving the police and a Toyota Ipsum vehicle resulted in the death of a pedestrian yesterday.
According to eyewitnesses the incident happened around 8 am near Buhera turnoff 3km from Mupandawana town when the police forcibly stopped the Toyota Ipsum driver demanding a bribe but the driver sped off at high speed with the cops in pursuit.

High speed chases involving the police and motorists have been repeatedly fatal in the past few months and the police been blamed for concentrating on bribes instead of executing their duties. The bribe demands have also increased during the festive season with police sources saying the officers are not happy following their failure to get bonuses.
