Andy Murray’s A Dad After Kim Sears Gives Birth

Andy Murray has become a father.

The British number one’s wife, Kim Sears, gave birth to a girl on Sunday night, according to reports.

A formal announcement is expected shortly.

Following his loss to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open at the end of January, Murray announced he would take the whole of February off to spend time with his wife and await the birth of their firth child.

‘I’d be way more disappointed winning the Australian Open and not being at the birth of the child,’ he said.

It means the world number two will miss the ATP events in Rotterdam and Dubai, but experts say this will not affect his ranking.

Murray and Sears tied the knot in Dunblane, the former’s hometown, in April last year. Four months, later, they announced the pregnancy.
