THE woman who hauled Harare lawyer Jeremiah Bamu to court alleging that he had raped her has withdrawn the matter before the courts.
She withdrew the matter before Bamu was asked to plead to the charges when he appeared before magistrate Tendai Mahwe.
In her affidavit, the 20-year-old said that Bamu did nothing against her will.
And that the matter had been resolved at family level.
“I am the complainant in this matter and I do wish to withdraw the charges against the accused.
“He did not do anything to me against my will. The matter has also been resolved at family level.

Allegations were that on March 20 at around 8am the 20-year-old visited her sister who is married to Bamu at her Milton Park residence.
It is said that at around that time, Bamu reportedly left his house saying he was attending a church service.
The court heard that Bamu’s wife and their children also followed leaving her sister at the house -alone.
Reports are that Bamu returned to his house at around 9:45am and his sister-in-law asked his for a phone charger.
Bamu is said to have asked his sister-in-law to follow him in his bedroom.
It is said that Bamu did not give his sister-in-law the phone charger she was looking for which forced her to leave his bedroom.
But Bamu allegedly blocked her way, grabbed and forcibly lifted before placing her on the bed.
He allegedly started kissing her.
It is alleged that Bamu forcibly undressed his sister-in-law and raped her.
Irked by her brother-in-law’s actions, the 20-year-old took the matter to the police leading to Bamu’s arrest.
