The President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza and his ruling party CNDD-FDD are heading the country into a fully dictatorship regime.
Civil rights groups in the country have tried to curb their caprices to no avail and are now bitterly complaining about the silent nature of the International Community to the plight of their country.
The suppression of the opposition and the media in an attempt to change the constitution and institute an “eternal” presidential term of office; the ousting of Tutsis from the armed forces, and many other unlawful acts perpetuated by the government, are signs that the miniature African state may soon become a violent dictatorship regime.
It should be noted that Burundi went into political crises in 2015 when Pierre Nkurunziza announced his intention to run for a third presidential term.
As a result of this crisis 500 people have died in violent clashes and over 400,000 Burundians have fled their fatherland.
