An emergency meeting should be held today at the presidency of the Republic under the aegis of the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic (SGPR) Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh on the recent decision of FIFA.
The leaders of FECAFOOT, the Ministry of Sports, but also the Prime Minister are invited. The meeting should decide on the government's strategy to deal with the situation.
It should be recalled that FIFA's decision to appoint a standardization committee within the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) was made in accordance with Art. 14, para. 1 (a) and s. 8, para. 2 of the FIFA Statutes.
This decision is therefore linked, on the one hand, to the confirmation by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) of the judgment of the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the Cameroonian Olympic and Sports Committee, which annulled the electoral procedure leading to the The election in 2015 of the current executive committee of FECAFOOT and, on the other hand, recent unsuccessful attempts by FIFA to bring the different stakeholders of Cameroonian football together and break the deadlock.
At a time when Cameroon is already in conflict with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on the organization of CAN, this decision of FIFA could be another problem to manage for the Cameroonian state.
