As Cameroon draws closer to a cabinet shake-up, much talk has centered around the appeasement of Anglophones through the appointment of some of their leaders to ministerial positions; and it is highly reported that the President of the Republic is set to dip his hands once more into his name ‘’bank’’ by recalling his longtime ally and former governor of the Littoral Region, Fai Yengo Francis, into his imminent new government.
The Anglophone ‘’Solution’’
In another attempt to solve the Anglophone problem by using the short-cut, President Biya is supposedly eyeing Barrister Nkongho Agbor Balla as a ministerial candidate; the recently released Anglophone ‘’terrorist’’ and leader of the banned Anglophone Civil Society Consortium is considered by Mr. Biya as a major key to unlock the situation in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.
Balla’s Reaction
The Barrister-at-law has been very reserved since his release from the Kondengui maximum security Prison, with many thinking that it is what is needed for him to map out new strategies as far as the way out of the current impasse in the two Anglophone Regions in Cameroon are concerned.
