The Archbishop Emeritus of Douala Christian Cardinal Tumi has condemned the violence perpetrated by soldiers on the local population in the South West Region.
Residents of Kwa Kwa, Matoh, and environs have all fled to the bush after the military invaded the localities and razed down buildings in their attempts to track down separatist forces.The operation also led to several persons dead notably a 96-year old woman who was razed to ashes by the fire reportedly set by the soldiers.
The fire also burnt down the house presbytery of the Roman Catholic church in Kwa Kwa which has led to widespread condemnation.
Not least from the outspokeN Archbishop Emeritus who has condemned the attitute for the military as he believes violence can not be solved through violence.

However, he believes the Head of State is not aware of the situation on ground reason why he has not yet condemned the violence perpetrated by the military on the local population.
« I am sure that if the President of the Republic knows whats was happening, he will condemn it but on the contrary he congratulated the army to bring peace, » Cardinal Tumi said in a video that has widely made rounds on social media
