President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the MDC Alliance leadership is responsible for the disturbances that rocked Harare’s central business today.
The party’s supporters today went on rampage, protesting against the results of Monday’s harmonised elections which saw Zanu PF winning two thirds majority in parliament.Speaking in Harare this evening, President Mnangagwa said the hooliganism and violence came as a surprise, adding that the opposition party leadership is to blame.
“We hold the opposition MDC Alliance and its whole leadership responsible for this disturbance of national peace, which was meant to disrupt the electoral process. Equally, we hold the party and its leadership responsible for any loss of life, injury or damage of property that arise from these acts of political violence which they have aided and abetted,” he said.
