Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba experienced a strained relationship with his former club manager Jose Mourinho.
Paul Pogba had considered leaving Manchester United while Jose Mourinho was in charge, the player's brother has revealed.
Mathias Pogba confirmed that his brother was evaluating his options at the club last year after a troubled relationship with former manager Mourinho.
The French World Cup winner was stripped of the vice-captaincy by the Portuguese coach, before being dropped to the bench for a number of matches earlier in the season.
However, Pogba has rejuvenated his playing career under new caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has scored six goals and notched five assists in just nine matches under the Norwegian.
The recent revival is in glaring contrast to the 25-year-old's fortunes under Mourinho, and speaking to French TV his brother confirmed had considered his Old Trafford future last year.
"Did Paul think about leaving because of Mourinho? Of course,” Mathias told French TV station Telefoot.

It is not the first time Pogba's brother has spoken about Mourinho's tenure at the club, and speaking last month he slammed the former Chelsea manager for his treatment of Paul.
"It was Mourinho who was the problem," Mathias told RMC Sport. "Mourinho still wants to be the centre of attention. The problem was Mourinho, right down the line.
"In the locker room, outside the locker room... everything, I know my brother, and you tell him, 'Go. Go play', the rest, he will do it.
"From what we see of Mourinho, he always wants to be the maestro, the centre of attention.
"(Paul) does not even calculate that aspect: you respect him, he will respect you, you trust him, he will produce big performances."
