Check These Five Mzansi Celebs Who Have Selflessly Helped During The Coronavirus Pandemic

A number of Mzansi celebrities have used their platforms to help others during this time of great need.

The coronavirus may have locked us all down and filled many with doubt and fear, but it has not defeated us because love and humility have triumphed.

Briefly.co.za has seen the endless and selfless generosity of SA celebs. From running live streams to raising funds to donate groceries to those in need, they have done it all.

DJ Black Coffee, Bonang Matheba, Boity Thulo, Minnie Dlamini Jones, Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung are just some of the amazing celebs who have stepped forward to share their blessings and lend a helping hand.

The coronavirus has brought the world to its knees and every single bit of help, from every single person, is needed. These celebs have done the most and their compassion has not gone unnoticed.

Here are just a few acts of kindness that SA celebs have shown.

1. Boity Thulo: Boity reached out to help people who have run out of electricity credits due to lack of funds during the lockdown. She was only able to help 10 families but asked her followers to see what they could do.

Her heart has been warmed by the spirit of Ubuntu. The way our country has pulled together in this time of need is truly something special.

2. DJ Black Coffee: He raised an astounding amount of R76 000 towards South Africa’s fight against COVID-19.

Black Coffee’s live streaming concert, Home Brewed 001, which was free, did not only give entertainment to many people, it was an opportunity for fans to donate money to the solidarity fund that was set up by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

3. Minnie Dlamini Jones: Minnie stepped forward and produced a hand sanitiser along with her amazing MD Skincare team.

Understanding the economic hardship this virus has caused, the first rollout of the MD sanitiser will be distributed and given away for free to the less fortunate who do not have the funds to buy things like sanitiser to protect themselves and others from this virus.

4. Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung: Somizi and hubby Mohale Motaung unveiled the new foundation which plans to help families in Freedom Park and Ekurhuleni.

Aimed at giving back to the community during the coronavirus lockdown, the couple announced that they would be handing out R200 000 in Makro vouchers.

5. Bonang Matheba: Bonang cannot handle the fact that there are thousands of families in Mzansi who are unable to afford to eat during this awful lockdown.

Taking to social media, Queen B called on her BForce to help her distribute R50k in food vouchers to worthy and needy families.
