Cheers erupted in the Sun Arena on Women's Day last year, when Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss South Africa 2019 - a moment we could watch over, and over, and over, and over ... Thanks to the digital age, that special moment will live on forever, and we can watch it on repeat!
On 9 August 2019, Miss South Africa 2018 Tamaryn Green presented her successor with Buhle - the locally designed glittering masterpiece worthy of her prestigious title.
"Coming in here I said I wanted to live a more purposeful life because I felt like I wasn't doing anything influential or great with my life. So with this title, I really am hoping to touch lives and just exist in a space where I can make change," Zozibini told the media, moments after being crowned.
Four months later, Zozibini rightfully took up space on the global stage, when she brought home the Miss Universe title.
Miss South Africa first runner-up Sasha-Lee Olivier, who represented the country in Miss World 2019, took over Zozibini's Miss South Africa duties after she relocated to New York for the duration of her Miss Universe reign.
Earlier this week Miss South Africa announced this year's top 10, who will compete in the grand finale on 24 October.
