Despite all the drama in her life regarding her ex-Ben 10, controversial dancer and entertainer Zodwa Wabantu still believes in love. In fact, the 34-year-old says she’s already moved on from her previous younger boyfriend, Vusi Buthelezi.
She’s unwilling to identify her new bae, “but check his picture in one of the videos I’ve posted on my Instagram account”, she says, giggling.“I haven’t given up on love – I still love hard. Even if my relationship only lasted a few months, I’d fall in love all over again,” she laughs.
Wabantu (whose real name is Zodwa Libram) and her former 23-year-old model boyfriend were the talk of the town after she posted a video on her Instagram account in which she accused Buthelezi of using her name fraudulently to acquire an endorsement from a popular German automobile manufacturer.
This week, Wabantu confirmed that she broke up with Buthelezi four months ago.
“I’ve opened a fraud case against him and the police are looking for him. But I’ve moved on and I’m happy,” she said.

She also alleged that Buthelezi stole from her.
“This was after I’d done so much for him, buying him an expensive watch, phone and clothes,” said Wabantu in a telephonic interview.
The mother of one said she wasn’t bitter that their relationship hadn’t worked out. All she wanted was to see Buthelezi punished by the law for what he’d done to her.
“He did me wrong. This is about more than money. He took my phone and used it under false pretences to acquire a car sponsorship. He’s going to pay for his sins,” she said.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed that Wabantu had opened a case against Buthelezi.
“The complainant alleged that the suspect hacked her social media account and changed her email password. The matter is still under investigation and no one has been arrested yet,” said Gwala.
Wabantu said that, when she first met Vusi, he was a smooth talker and this was one of the reasons she’d fallen in love with him.
“Little did I know that I was sleeping with a fraudster and a psychopath,” she adds.
Buthelezi refused to comment, referring City Press to his legal representative, attorney Howard Felix, who explained that his client was aware that a case of violation of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act had been opened against him at Empangeni Police Station.
“We’re busy corroborating this information and will be able to confirm whether there’s any truth to it. Our office can’t understand what the complaint is about. As far as we know, a car was involved. Unfortunately, my client can’t give you a very detailed account of his version because it would expose the defective complaint allegation. It would also give the complainant an opportunity to change her story to cover discrepancies,” said Felix.
