Mzansi was left shocked and in disbelief over the latest victim of gender-based violence, 19-year-old Kwasa Zozo Lugalo, whose life was taken away by her ex-boyfriend.
Whilst August served as a month where Mzansi remembers Uyinene Mrwetyana, another young soul was also taken and old wounds were opened.
Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi knew the victim personally and she took to Twitter to share the news and how it left her and her family as Kwasa was her little sister’s friend.
She wished her a peaceful rest after writing how her death left her without words, “My little sister’s friend, a beautiful joy to me and my family. She was stabbed to death by a boy because she didn’t want him. I don’t even know what to say. Ngxesi Malebomvu ntombi encinci. Uphumle ngoxolo.” she wrote.
Kwasa was in an abusive relationship which made her feel unsafe and her own family could not even help her. It is also alleged that her boyfriend also took his own life after stabbing the Wits University student three times. Rest in peace Kwasa!
