Modern and trendy but also very cultural. These uniform outfits still showcase the individuality of the Miss SA 2020 finalists.

THE MISS SA TOP 5: The top 5 ladies comprised of some of the strongest speakers we have ever seen in our years of pageant coverage. Lebogang Mahlangu and Melissa Nayimuli were both girls who would have been as equally deserving of the top 3. We have to say that we fell in love with Melissa’s deep authoritative voice so much that she may have recited the phonebook in the Q&A segment and we’ll still crown her. We also felt for Lebogang as she ran out of time to finish what she was saying.
What we were flabbergasted about the top 5 was how judges left out fan favorite Karishma Ramdev from advancing further. We believe that Karishma did well in the entire competition and she would have been great at the top 5 question and answer portion had she been given a chance to speak.
MISS SA 2020 WINNERS: 2nd Runner Up, Natasha Joubert – one of our six faves for the crown, the 5’7 1/2″ Natasha did great and would be a great rep to any of the franchises that the Miss SA holds.

If it was our choice we would have placed her as a top 5 finisher this year and have her return next year to be crowned Miss SA for either Miss World or Universe. However, we feel that whichever pageant she is sent to this year, she will be a great rep and do her best.
1st Runner Up, Thato Mosehle – if we had our way, we would send her to Miss World specially with her medical background. It would be a great way to put into use her background with the Beauty with a Purpose ethos of the pageant. At 5’9″ she’s at an advantage as MW seems to prefer tall ladies. Although we also see her as a good fit for the Miss Universe pageant. Choices, choices…
Miss South Africa 2020, Shudufhadzo Musida – she’s 5’8 1/2″ tall and gorgeously bald. We would love to see her bald-headedness compete for Miss Universe. Her winning the title broke stereotypes in pageantry and that is something that we feel would be appreciated more in the Miss Universe pageant over the more traditional Miss World.
PAGEANT NOTES: This year an all-female judging line-up ware tasked to select the winner and the jury included some of South Africa’s most respected and influential personalities. In the panel were reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi; business dynamo and 1996 Miss South Africa Peggy-Sue Khumalo; multi-award-winning, radio and TV presenter Anele Mdoda; actress, presenter, motivational speaker, author and entrepreneur Leandie du Randt as well as actress Kim Engelbrecht.
The show’s host is actress, media personality and humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha with TV host, actress and model Lalla Hirayama as a supporting presenter. Some of the country’s best and most exciting performers were part of the line-up including Mi Casa, Sho Madjozi, Ami Faku, Jimmy Nevis and Sun El-Musician.
