Renowned Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has blasted Zimbabwean youths for following Passion Java and Ginimbi’s lifestyle whilst ignoring prominent youth activist Namatai Kwekweza.
In two Facebook post today, Hopewell was celebrating the 22-year-old activist Namatai Kwekweza while bemoaning Zimbabwean youths who focus on Passion Java whom he identified as a comedian.
He says Namatai deserves more attention and followership as she is fighting for the future of young Zimbabweans.
He even attached screenshots to prove the point. Below are the respective posts in their order and attached pictures.
Today I want to celebrate this young lady!
Whilst most Zimbabweans of her age are busy animated with Ginimbi’s life style, she is fighting to stop Mnangagwa’s oppressive constitutional amendments, and at times getting detained and now tried for it!
You are awesome Namatai Kwekweza! You represent what our youths should be doing to secure their future!
Thank you for being who you are.
At 22 you are doing things that 50-year-olds are failing to do whilst they chase frivolous stuff here in social media!

Hopewell Chin’ono Blasts Zim Youths Over Following Java and Ginimbi |
Now this defines the bankruptcy of today’s youths!
On the left (up) is an activist fighting for a better future for these youths, on the right (down) is a comedian “prophet.”
The numbers of followers define the uselessness of today’s youths and their lack of political consciousness. Tragic
They will buy data to share Java’s nonsense and not share things that will enhance their future!
Passion Java then replied to Hopewell calling him a male private part in street lingual. He described him as a failed journalist who wants to make money from NGOs through attacking politicians and Zimbabweans.

Passion Java further described Hopewell as a failed journalist who has run short of stories. He says he knows Hopewell Chin’ono’s secrets of dating teenage girls while calling him Hopeless Chikonyo.
In a normal country, these youths would be at work or university doing their postgrad studies.
By encouraging this Tomfoolery, the youths will start thinking that they too can make it through unconventional means and at times corrupt pathways, and the system likes that.
This creates a sideshow of hope of stopping the youths from asking the hard questions to the authors of their misery, the regime!
They are no longer bothered about why they don’t have water as they follow these freak shows!
The fact that within our midst there are people who defend this shows how broken and tragic our society has become!
I won’t stop talking about these sideshows because when I talk I don’t do so for likes or Retweets!
I will say the most unpopular things as long as my moral compass tells me that I am right!
If I don’t do that, I will also have to answer to future generations why I kept quiet!
We have a mindset problem!!!
