Dr. Thato Mosehle, 25, was assigned as Miss Supranational South Africa 2021 on December 10, 2020. She is a model and a medical doctor from Klerksdorp, North West, South Africa.
Mosehle was one of the 10 finalists of Miss South Africa 2020. She was runner-up to Shudufhadzo Musida, 23, of Ha-Masia, Limpopo, South Africa while Natasha Joubert, 22, of Centurion, Tshwane, Gauteng, South Africa was second runner-up.
While Mosehle is representing South Africa at Miss Supranational 2021, Musida and Joubert are the country’s respective representatives at Miss World 2021 and Miss Universe 2020, which is expected to be held in the first quarter of 2021.
The respective 2020 editions of Miss World and Miss Supranational were both cancelled due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Both international beauty pageants will resume in 2021.
Hosted by Nomazamo Mbatha, the Miss South Africa 2020 coronation night took place in The Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa on October 24, 2020. The judges were radio jockey Anele Mdoda, actresses Leandie du Randt and Kim Engelbrecht, Miss South Africa 1996 Peggy-Sue Khumalo and Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi.

Melissa Nayimuli, 24, of Butterworth, Eastern Cape and Lebogang Mahlangu, 24, of Soshanguve, Gauteng finished in the Top 5. Jordan van der Vyver, 24, of Durbanville, Western Cape was named Motherkind Co. Fitness Ambassador of the Year.
In 2018, Mosehle competed in Miss Mamelodi Sundowns and was the first princess. As Miss South Africa 2020 first runner-up, she received R250,000 ($16681.38) in cash.
Currently, Mosehle is completing her internship at the Klerksdorp-Tshepong Hospital complex in Klerksdorp. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) degree in 2018 from the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
Originally from Stilfontein, North West, Mosehle is a big fan of Miss South Africa 2012 Marilyn Ramos, who is a native of Klerksdorp. The newly crowned Miss Supranational South Africa 2021 is an aspiring anesthesiologist.
Miss Supranational crowned its first queen in 2009. If Mosehle wins the 2021 edition, she will be the international beauty pageant’s first titleholder from South Africa and the first candidate from the country to place in the competition.
