Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade couldn’t help herself as she vibed to Sungura ace and man of the moment Mark Ngwazi’s popular song “Taurai Madzoka”.

Taking to Instagram Yemi Eberechi Alade shared a video of herself lip-syncing and jamming to “Taurai Madzoka.”

The firebrand songbird revealed that Mark Ngwazi’s was now her phone’s ringtone. She captioned the video;

“This song low key is now my ringtone. It’s obvious why I’m late for meetings.”

Mark Ngwazi’s song went viral on Tik Tok just a couple of days after it was released. His song has so far attracted more than a million views on YouTube ever since a video made by a Tik Tok user lip-syncing to the song went viral.

Fans from all over the world share Tik Tok videos dancing to the song, imitating the musician while lip-syncing to the song.

Speaking during an interview after his song went viral on Tik Tok, the Hwedza-born musician said he was happy with the response and how many people were appreciating sungura music.

“I am excited about the news,” he said. “My friend yesterday called me, alerting me about TikTok and my song which has gone viral and how celebrities are endorsing the song through TikTok. It is so amazing,” he told The Herald.

Ngwazi said it was refreshing and surprising at the same time to have people from all walks of life appreciating sungura music.

Surprisingly, when his song went viral on social media Ngwazi didn’t have a Tik Tok account as he wasn’t aware of the existence of Tik Tok

“I didn’t know about it,” he said. “I just hear youngsters talking about it. There are network problems where I stay, it is difficult to join such platforms and be consistent.”

He, however, said he was working on getting a Tik Tok account as soon as possible.
