The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt for Puma Energy depot manager after he vanished with more than US$38, 000 company money.
Dingani Zhou is alleged to have broken into a company safe and taken US$38 000 before vanishing.
Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the incident to a local publication saying;
“I can confirm receiving a report of theft in which a suspect known as Dingani Zhou was employed by Puma service station is believed to have vanished with more than 38 thousand USD.”
Zhou’s theft only came to light after he failed to report for duty on Thursday last week.
Meanwhile, Zhou is suspected to have vanished with a yet to be quantified amount of money as he is alleged to have been collecting money from other fuel dealers.
According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, Zhou was running the Puma Kuwadzana depot as the manager and on many occasions, he would also get money from other registered dealers for fuel deliveries. A number of people reportedly lost their money as they deposited their money into his personal account.
