A Masvingo woman reportedly scalded her 34-year-old cheating husband,
Tarupiwa Chibundu, after a misunderstanding over a phone call from his
girlfriend, Chronicle reported.
According to sources familiar with the situation, drunk Chibundu arrived home around 8pm on Saturday and found his wife, Chipo Shiriyedende, already preparing to sleep.
The couple is said to have engaged in a heated argument over Chibundu's alleged girlfriend.
The argument went on with Chibundu maintaining that he needed time to terminate his affair with the small house.
During the argument, Chibundu's girlfriend phoned after sending several Whatsapp messages that were ignored.
Chibundu then answered the phone and that must have infuriated Shriyedende.
The couple is said to have later reached a "truce" after agreeing that they would discuss the issue the following morning since Chibundu was drunk.
The woman woke up early in the morning and boiled a litre of cooking and poured it on her sleeping husband's face.
Shriyedende was later arrested.
