Social media platforms, Whatsapp and Facebook have been sizzling with rumours that the Leader and Founder of United Family International(UFI) Prophet has died in a horrifying car accident.
Given the huge following that the charismatic, celebrity preacher commands, the Harare rumour mill went agog as fans and foes alike shared the ‘information’.
The Message read: “BREAKING NEWS: Zimbabwean prophet who is the founder and Leader of the United family International Church well known as as UFI has died this morning in a car crash accident in Harare as he was driving from home to town. This accident is said to be politically linked after his prophecy yesterday that accused VP Joice Mujuru will win the elections for the Presidency on this forthcoming ZANU-PF congress in December 2014. It is also claimed that the other reason is his bloodshed prophecy in which he made about a month ago. His body is currently at Parirenyatwa hospital in Harare and his wife is said to be in a criticalcoma since she is severly injured. Please this is not a joke, share!”
UFI Deputy Spokesperson, Psychology Maziwisa has however poured cold water on the nasty rumour, dismissing it as baseless, unfounded and malice inspired. Reached for a comment, he told us the whole thing was a hoax.
He then directed us to a post on his Facebook Page in which he said the Man of God was safe and sound, adding that the false story was cooked up by “Satanists” in our midst who are bitterly opposed to the great works of faith being done by the Prophet.
