A 29-YEAR-OLD man from Hobhouse high-density suburb assaulted his wife claiming that she was having an extra-marital affair after he saw a dog in their yard which he believed belonged to another man.
Davison Chapeyama appeared before Mutare magistrate Mr Langton Mukwengi facing charges of destroying property in his house when he fought with his wife, Ivy Chapeyama.
Mr Brian Goto, who prosecuted, told the court that on November 6, Davison came home drunk and saw a dog in their yard.
It is alleged that Davison accused Ivy of having an affair with the owner of the dog.
“A misunderstanding arose between the two resulting in a fist-fight.
“Some household goods, among which included kitchenware worth $100, were destroyed in the process,” he said.
Mr Mukwengi ordered Davison to restitute the complainant her $100 by December 15 and failure to do so will see him serve two months behind bar
