RISING contemporary musician Jah Prayzah mocks disgraced and convicted rapist Robert Martin Gumbura in one of his latest songs. The Uzumba-born musician in his latest offering— Chinamira —warns a woman that she will be damaged if she ever met Gumbura.
Disgraced and jailed cleric Gumbura, 57, is currently serving a 40-year jail sentence for multiple rape charges. The RMG End Time Message Church leader was recently hauled before the courts on allegations of masterminding the Chikurubi Maximum Prison riots that left five prisoners dead.
Jah Prayzah, real name Mukudzeyi Mukombe, released his sixth studio album titled Jerusarema last month. Songs on the 11-track album which was mixed and mastered in South Africa by legendary producer Keith Farquhason are title track Jerusarema, Eriza, Roots (featuring Jamaican reggae sensation Luciano), Ndoenda, Daira, Chinamira, Vanorodza Museve, Tiise Maoko, Zama, Zenze and Taura.
Jah Prayzah, rose to fame in 2012 following the release of Sungano, which brought him commercial success. The album carried songs such as Sungano Yerudo and attracted much attention, including that of top music promoter Partson Chimbodza.
In 2012, Jah Prayzah released Ngwarira Kuparara, which carried tracks like Gotchi Gotchi, Maria, Ngwarira Kuparara and Dande.
The album saw him becoming a household name and he quickly became a must-get musician and regularly performed at Jazz 105.
The release of the album Tsviriyo in 2013 further consolidated his rise to the top.
