What started off as a social media war between two rappers, Stunner and Mudiwa, has degenerated into “diss” music. Gospel rapper Mudiwa was the first to fire a salvo at Stunner who responded by composing a song that denigrated the former. Interestingly, the two rappers were given the same beat to record on.
All seemed well in the beginning but tables turned last week when Mudiwa accused Pokello Nare’s ex-boyfriend Stunner of stealing his song Vegodo Vondikonewa.
A miffed Mudiwa went on to record Vegodo Vandikonewa Part Two which pokes fun at Stunner over his sex tape with Pokello a few years ago. The controversial gospel rapper also mocked Stunner for not owning a car.
Mudiwa took to Facebook to justify the “diss” song which many have criticised as being “out of character for a gospel artiste.”
“This is for my number 1 fan and of course to correct a few things. Stunner you pushed me to get into the race with you when you knew I did not want,” read part of Mudiwa’s Facebook post.
“Well you are just a difficult man, but if music is the only language you understand here it is...I recorded this song today after reading in Hmetro that you are challenging me. Please listen and give me your feedback...but the question still remains who is the best...I need an answer!”
In the song Mudiwa sings “I have seen my boy rise, I have seen my boy fall. Zvemabeef istayera yake kuti awanawe mashow…15 years uri mumunda asiri uchii kufamba nematoes…Dai uri headboard kutaura idi waitokura worse musoro…nhamo inokurova kunge hitsong irikubva kuna mudhara, five years asiri muma charts rega azogaya kunditsara…the only rapper anofamba netsoka achida kushaina paHarare.”
This enraged Stunner also poked fun at Mudiwa via Twitter.
“You know the struggle is real when a “rapper” goes to the studio to re do “his” song. #goreredzidzo”
Mudiwa’s song was released around 5pm on Tuesday and Stunner went on to record Unemamhepo the same night.
“Let’s not talk about mota because yako haina mapepa…Magaya akuti no, Makandiwa akakuti no, even Roma ikati no…Voice rangu wakatora, stayera yangu ukatora, kana skiri rekurambwa I see kuti wakatora, ita sorry kuna Karen mudzokere kuchurch…rega urambwe zera rako kutengerwa hembe…ndaramba hatiimbe zvakafanana Mudiwa hatisi choir…”
The two warring songs are available online.
This is not, however, the first time the two have clashed. In 2014, they had a Twitter war over Stunner’s sex tape as well.
Then someone tweeted about Stunner’s bed not having a headboard and Mudiwa retweeted it to Stunner.
Stunner was not amused; he went ahead to attack Mudiwa who backed down saying he merely wanted his colleague to know what people were talking about.
