MAMELODI Sundowns FC midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi allegedly bashed his wife while demanding answers over her alleged affair with a cross border transporter.
Mahachi, of Cowdray Park, was yesterday seen at the Western Commonage Courts in the company of his wife, Maritha Ndlovu.
Police had arrested Mahachi on a physical abuse charge, but Ndlovu withdrew her complaint before any court proceedings could commence.
Mahachi denied assaulting his wife in a brief interview with the Chronicle last night.
“I didn’t assault my wife, so l don’t know about the physical abuse charge you’re talking about. Where did you guys get such information? As l’m talking to you right now, I’m with my wife at home, meaning we’re fine,” he said.
Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo of Bulawayo police declined to comment, saying a file on the matter had been passed on to prosecutors.
It is claimed Mahachi assaulted Ndlovu over her alleged affair with a malayitsha, Lloyd Sibanda.
On June 13, our sister paper B-Metro published an interview with Mahachi in which he accused his wife of infidelity.
“I’m very much disturbed. She has really let me down. I recently discovered that she’s about four months pregnant. I’ve no intention to continue staying with her. I’ve to let her go because of her infidelity,” the former Highlanders player said.
The young couple was blessed with a baby girl, Dineo, in 2013.
“I can’t just imagine how she managed to cohabit with Lloyd while our daughter is not well. This has been happening for some time. Of late, Lloyd has been busy calling me apologising. This is heartbreaking, but I’ll soldier on,” Mahachi told B-Metro. The Chronicle
