Luck ran out of two fake Zimbabwean prophets who were on a mission to defraud an 81-year old man in Botswana this week. The two got a lesson in humanity from an angry mob after they got caught trying to perform a fake miracle in the neighboring country.
Speaking to The Voice in an interview, an eye witness, Sephatonyana Tsamaloba, said he was arriving at the scene from his cattle post when he met the two men who claimed to be prophets.
According to Tsamaloba, the men stopped him on the streets and 'prophesied' that there was a problem at his cattle post which needed their prayer intervention.
"They told me that my livestock was going to die leaving me impoverished unless of course if I allowed them to pray for me. And these prayers were meant to take place at the Thamalakane River. I refused to go with them but they insisted," The old man man revealed.
It was whilst cajoling and persuading the old man, to accompany them to the river that someone recognised them and shouted, "Thieves!"
In no time a mob was all over the two false prophets like a bad rash.
"I don't condone mob justice but I thank them for a job well done. We don't need such people in the community" a local Senior Chief Representative, Charles Letsholathebe who was one of the first to arrive on the scene said.
While the two men's names could not be established immediately, however one of the eye-witnesses who identified them as thieves and notified My ZImbabwe News said they are Zimbabweans who who came from Bulawayo.
"They are known this side. They are Zimbabweans who came from Bulawayo, but their Setswana accent is as good as that of local people," a source who requested anonimity told My Zimbabwe News.
