York Regional Police are flattering a 9 year-old boy in Ontario for an “unbelievable act of bravery” after he called 911 and told the operator his mother was driving drunk with him in the car.
“The boy sounded scared, but was able to tell the call taker his name, that he was nine, where he was, the description of the van and where he lives,” said a police release about the incident.

Based on the information provided by her son, police tracked the van to a location in Newmarket and placed the 52 year-old woman under arrest. At the police station she blew more than twice the legal limit.
Praise is already flowing in for the boy, who was taken home by his father from the police station.
