FORMER Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari arrived into the country at the weekend to launch his bid for a Zifa position.
Mwaruwari wants to contest for the Zifa board presidency, but age restriction which stipulates that for one to hold the top post they must be no younger than 40 years, may hinder his bid.The former striker, who arrived in Harare yesterday, hopes that the requirement can be waived.

Yesterday, he met supporters’ associations at a local hotel.
Mwaruwari can emerge as businessman Phillip Chiyangwa’s biggest competition if he succeeds with his candidature.
He is prepared, however, to throw his weight behind any other candidate with football background.
Former Zimbabwe Soccer Star of the Year James Takavada has expressed interest in taking up Zifa’s top post, but Chiyangwa seems to have made considerable progress in his bid to woo the majority of the councillors.
