Response by HHI Apostolic Team
We the Apostolic Team leaders of Harvest International Church (HHI) do join the Tuturu and Dumba families in mourning the sudden passing away of Reverend Tani Tuturu.
Concerning the article, you wrote we want to refute the malicious allegations levelled against our Founder and the church’s governance structures in your media publication.
The leadership of Harvest House International Church (HHI) is governed by a well-articulated church constitution which spells out rules and regulations by which the church leadership and congregants may abide by.
In terms of church governance, the church is run by an Apostolic Team which comprises of Reverends who oversee a cluster of churches in a region under the HHI flagship.
The apostolic team has the mandate to set strategies and structures that govern the on-going concern of HHI.
Each member of the apostolic team has a specific mandate which they are expected to execute and the apostolic team meets three times a year.
Our Founders have always been accommodative to different opinions in our leadership team. They have never been dictatorial as alleged in your article.
HHI now has over 300 churches worldwide. As a father and leader, Bishop is mandated to visit these churches from time to time for ministry, not for the fun of it, but to strengthen and inspire these churches.
The church also has three pastors’ meetings in a year where various issues are laid out and addressed in a friendly and constructive environment.
The meetings take different forms from ministry issues, personal life issues, leadership and management, etc.
All pastors have the free will and mandate to run their churches as they see fit in line with the church constitution and the laid out annual strategies in consideration.
All instructions from the apostolic base, which is in Bulawayo, are made out from a fatherly spirit in a spirit of sonship, respect and honour.
The church has full recognition and appreciation of the fact that all pastors need to be well taken care of in all facets of life to the extent of which the church can avail assistance.
The church is no way ignorant of the welfare of its pastors who are invariably the heartbeat of the church.
Your views surrounding the passing away of our late Reverend and the operations of Harvest House International are shocking and extremely disappointing.
It is clear then that the article you wrote is misinformed. As the Apostolic Team for our church we refute such negative comments against our leaders.
