Panic gripped students at a government primary school in Lajpat Nagar after six children fell ill due to suspected food poisoning after consuming mid-day meal. Children were rushed to the Trauma Centre. District magistrate has ordered a probe in the incident.
This is the third incident of students falling ill after eating mid-day meal in the state capital in the last six months. In another incident in July 2015, worms were detected in the midday meal.After consuming the food, students started feeling uneasy and complained of stomach ache. Some students began vomiting and complained of loose motions.

When contacted, public relation officer, Akshay Patra Foundation Mahesh Babu TR said, ``We have supplied food to 220 schools across Lucknow. The report of quality control of Akshay Patra said that the Lajpat Nagar School was in deteriorating condition because of the ongoing painting and maintenance work because of which children got nausea and vomiting.
We have not supplied the adulterated the food because the same food was supplied to other schools from where no complaints of students falling ill have been reported.''
