Burt Reynolds Has Sweet Reunion with His First Girlfriend During Hometown Homecoming

Nothing like a high school sweetheart to bring out your softer side, which is precisely what happened to Burt Reynolds during a recent visit to his hometown.

The veteran actor was in town for a lively Q&A about his memoir But Enough About Me and was surprised with a mini-reunion with his "first kiss," Ann Lawlor Scurry.

The Palm Beach Post reports that during the Q&A, Scurry asked Reynolds who was his "best girl" in high school, which received a pleasantly surprised response from the actor: "Well, I can't see," he said. "But I have a feeling it was you." Reynolds also admitted he shared his first kiss with Scurry and the two former lovebirds posed for a sweet photo together. The memories got Reynolds feeling all sentimental.

"My life is so screwed up, I used to land here and my blood pressure would go [down]," he said of his affection for The Sunshine State. "So I thought ‘I’m moving here.' Why should my blood pressure only go down when I fly?"

Reynolds later thanked his hometown friends for all their support over the years.

"It's so emotional," he told the crowd about being able to share personal stories and memories with people who actually know him. "You get your BS barometer handed to you very early down here," he said.
