Arsenal's Laurent Koscielny has condemned the non-existence of cover the defence expected yesterday as Arsenal drew 3-3 with West Ham.
The Gunners were 2-0 ahead, however Andy Carroll managed to get two back for the Hammers before the half time whistle. He then went on to score another shortly after half time, before Koscielny’s scored a 70th minute equaliser to secure a point for Arsenal.“You can’t let them get a cross in easy because they have some good players on the wings,” he said.
“It is a job for everyone, not just the defenders/ The guys on the flanks need to help their team-mates with defending.”
The Frenchman didn’t blame it all on other players; he did accept some responsibility that the centre backs should have dealt better with the aerial duels.
“He is quality when it comes to heading the ball. If you want to win the duel, you need to be stronger and arrive early on the cross.”
With the Gunners only earning one point from the game, it looks like the title challenge is over for Arsenal. The North London club currently sit on 59 points, with Leicester and Tottenham on 69 and 62 points respectively.
