Regional leaders congratulated President Yoweri Museveni upon being elected for another term of office during a meeting at a conference in Kampala.
The leaders who included President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Debretsion Gebremichael, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, noted that President Museveni's reelection attests to the confidence and trust Ugandans have in his leadership.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to work with Museveni who has been at the forefront of advocating for regional integration to advance the agenda.
Museveni won the 2016 Presidential elections with a 60% majority and also secured another victory in the Supreme Court where his reelection had been challenged by his former Premier, Amama Mbabazi.
